Celia Grace cried alot today. Everytime a Chinese person speaks to her (which is often as we draw a crowd since we are an oddity here. Very few caucasian here and very few people with 3 children. Mix the 2 together and you can imagine the looks we get!) If only I could avoid Chinese speakers, we would be in luck. Once they talk to her, she wants to go with them and not with us. She hates the room and wants to go out. We are trying to stay in these first few days since she draws a crowd of her Chinese speaking followers when we go out and then we are back to square 1! We did go to Walmart today and bought a stroller and some pull ups as it appears that Ceil is potty trained. I just don't intend to take any chances when we are out and about. She seems small to me, but the Gymboree 12-18 stuff is too short (fits OK otherwise). The carter's stuff was a little longer, so the 18 mo. works OK there. I think she is long waisted as her onesies are a little stretch.
Hoping tomorrow will be better. We head to Qingdao and will spend the night there. We will go to the orphanage and also to the aquarium to see the famed mermaids.
Here are a few pictures that Emma Rose took of the trip so far...

Glad things are going pretty well. Celia, just as your "big" girls, is beautiful.
Debbie and Vicki, I have tried to post 3 times, but being somewhat challenged in the electronic department - I think I got it this time though. Love the pictures and Celia is so cute and adorable. I'm glad she is eating well. I know that will make NaNa Vicki happy! Have a great time in China and I'm looking forward to meeting your youngest daugher/granddaughter. Pat Mc.
Hi Deborah! Celia is just precious! I look forward to following the rest of your journey, and I hope that each day gets a bit easier for all of you.
You are certainly helping me to prepare emotionally for some the same issues when adopting a toddler. Although, no matter how many books and blogs I read about attachment, I'm sure to never be fully prepared. By the way, we did get our PA on Nov. 20th!
Enjoy your trip and let us know how the weather is once you get to Guangzhou!

All three girls look like they are having a good time! Celia is a beautiful girl and looks very happy. I understand about drawing attention, it can be overwhelming without the toddler in tow! I know that things will change in a few days and she won't want you out of her sight. We can't wait to meet her!!!

Your three peas are so beautiful Dr. Focarile.
I hope things settle down for Celia and everyone has a wonderful time during the rest of your trip.
Oh gosh, I remember how Jamie HATED the hotel rooms... I spent two weeks walking the halls with her day and night! I hope you are getting more rest... much more rest! Your two Jie Jie's seem very happy... what wonderful memories they'll have.

I hope things get smoother as the days go on. Bless her heart and yours as well. I know it must be so hard seeing her like that.
Good luck tomorrow at the Orphanage.
I was just looking at your beautiful pictures, and Ian pointed at Celia and said, "Look! A sweetie pie!"
Happy Thanksgiving Focarile Girls,
Hope your trip to Celia's city was fun. Did Olivia love the mermaids as much as she thought she would? I was glad to hear you were going. Can't wait to hear more about your trip and how the girls are doing. Does the attention bother Emma Rose or Olivia? Talk to you soon,
stephanie
