Faces of Field Day

C's self-induced haircut is finally just about grown out!

Today E and O had their field day. It was alot of fun. O had her time during the morning and E went in the afternoon which meant I spent the whole day out in the sun!

The circus

On Saturday, I took the girls to the Ringling Brother's Circus. We had a great time. E Hoola Hooped during the Circus Preview, O tried to flag down every vendor that walked by, and C slept through a big portion of the show!

Gotcha Day/Mother's Day

O and Mama May 2010. O still has the same smile she did 6 years ago. It is like a little burst of sunshine!

O and Mama in Wuhan, Hubei May 2004

Six years ago on Mother's Day I sat in a HOT, unair-conditioned civil affairs office in Wuhan, Hubei, China waiting for my second daughter to arrive. O joined our family on May 9, 2004. It was a very special Mother's Day that year. This is the first time since that hot, steamy afternoon that Mother's Day and O's Gotta Day have fallen together. Such a special day. I am so glad that O is my daughter. She has blossomed in these last 6 years and has grown in beauty and grace.

How blessed I am to be the mother of these three sweet girls!

Fun in the Sun

Spent the afternoon in the backyard. The girls were finally able to break out their new swim suits and played in the sprinkler. I have to laugh that O still calls it her "babing soup". Now C is following suit. I can't wait to spend the summer with these sweet, precious girls.

My Baby Turns Three!!!

These are the first pictures I saw of C in August 2008. They were taken some time around her first birthday. It was love at first sight. As I read her file, I was overwhelmed by God's goodness in how He intervened in her life. C was near death when she was brought to the orphanage at 3 months old. She was blue, gasping for air, had pneumonia and 2 large holes in her heart. God placed several people in her path to nurture and care for her. She had surgery very young which changed her life. She is now completely healthy with no residual effects from her congenital heart condition other than a scar. She is full of life. A funny little girl with a sweet and tender heart.

My how she has grown!! I am so thankful for her life and the mercy and grace that God has pour out in her life. She is a rare treasure.

Can you tell that O and C are recovering from haircuts they gave themselves about a month ago?
