Happy 6th Birthday Princess O!

We have had a rough couple of weeks here at our house. Everyone has been sick - strep, tummy bugs, more strep, the fun doesn't seem to ever end. Unfortunately, we all stayed in our pajamas today and tried to get back on our feet before another week starts. I say unfortunately because today is O's 6th birthday. We tried to make the best of things in between naps and medicine doses. She watched some of her new videos and played dress up with C for a diversion.

Since O's Chinese name begins with X, we have nicknamed her Princess of Hugs and Kisses. Here are a few pictures of my sweet princess in her favorite element.

C, of course, had to get in on the act...

Happy birthday my precious O. You are my sweet May flower and the sunshine of my life. I am grateful every day that I get to be your mother. You are a rare and precious gift. I look forward to all of the wonderful moments that we will spend together this year.

Happy New Year!

On Saturday we met with several other families with Children from China in the central Texas area to celebrate Chinese New Year. Here are a few pics of my girls at the party. They wore the prettiest little Chinese outfits that we bought while we were in China.

Emma Rose Xiaoling (from Xianyang, Shaanxi Province) - 8 years old

Olivia Xinjuan (from Yangxin, Hubei Province) - 5 years old

Celia Grace Qianxue (from Qingdao, Shandong Province) - 20 months old

Spring time?!

The weather has been crazy here in Texas. It has been very cold lately, although not at all what the rest of the country is suffering. But here in TX, 40 degrees for the high is cold.
Earlier this week, there was a freak warm spell and we had about 3 days where the temperature was in the 80s. One day it almost hit 90! The girls enjoyed donning their spring clothes and heading outside. Not to worry, it is cold again!

Did I mention that Celia likes to squeeze her body into the baby doll stroller?! Tight squeeze, but she does it! Olivia, as usual, is sporting one of her handbags.

No blog entry would be complete without a picture of Celia eating. She loves soup. She picks up the bowl and drinks the broth all by herself!
Don't be fooled. Behind that bowl she is smiling her cheesiest grin...always posing for a picture!

First Haircut

On Saturday I took Celia for her first haircut.

Playing around at the Zoo

Sunday was such a beautiful day. We took the girls to the zoo. They spent quite a bit of time playing on the playground there.

Beautiful Days...

The last several days have been beautiful. The girls and I have tried to take advantage of every moment of sunshine. We have been to the zoo, the park and played out in the yard. But you know the saying..."All good things must come to an end."
